Video Tapes to DVD
Video tapes use magnetic media to store the image, and this, by its very nature, is not a good long term storage solution.
We can transfer your tapes to standard or archival DVD for much more secure long term storage.
The main types of tape we handle are:
VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, 8mm, Digital 8, Micro MV and MiniDV, but we are able to do many other less common formats.
We will put a maximum of 90 minutes onto a DVD anymore and the quality starts to deteriorate.
All tapes are only handled by our staff thus ensuring they are returned safely.
Tell me about the DVDs you make?
We can offer standard branded DVDs or Archival DVDs which are guaranteed for 100 years (additional charge), and additional copy DVD's are available for just ??10.00 each. All DVDs are R format for maximum compatibility but we can transfer onto +R discs on request.
DVDs are labelled and packaged in anti stress cases to protect you DVD for years to come.
Will I get my old video tapes back?
Yes, your tapes will be returned. We strongly recommend that you keep your tapes after the transfer. Box it up and pop it back under the stairs or give to a relative to look after. Your DVD could one day get lost or damaged.
How long does it take?
10 days, at peak periods it may take a little longer.
